Revisiting Tales of Community Conservation – Milking The Rhino
Back in 2007, Off the Radar covered a documentary still in the early stages of screening. Three years later, Milking the Rhino has won countless awards, including Best Nature Film at the Yosemite Film Festival and Best Documentary at both the Pan African and San Luis Obispo International Film Festival.

Travel Talk Show Hopeful
Oprah has begun to accept auditions in the "Your OWN Show" competition series, where participants submit auditions vying for the role of a talk show host for Oprah's new network, OWN. While many creative auditions have been submitted, one contestant caught our eye. Zach Anner makes his case to host a travel show designed to inspire people who never though they could travel. Zach, though physically confined to a wheelchair due to cerebral palsy, shows the freedom to be found in an adventurous and willing spirit. To vote, go to his official audition video here....

I spent the evening of May 22nd in a packed theater in Telluride, Colorado, at the Mountain Film Festival watching the World Premiere of Ken Burns's new film, "The National Parks: America's Best Idea."
This was my first time to the Mountain Film Festival and I expected to see such films like the snow-boarding thriller "That's It, That's All" and "Solo," which documents Australian Andrew McAuley's ill-fated kayak trip across the Tasman Sea, but was happy to see the many issue-oriented documentaries such as Burns's National Parks....
East Meets West Foundation Documentary
Check out the Easts Meets West Foundations documentary; a 24 minute film shot by Emmy award winning cinematographer Stephen McGee. The film showcases 20 years of work by the foundation. With beautiful footage shot all over Vietnam, the film takes you to villages, hospitals, schools and local homes for an up-close view of the innovative programs of EMW that have had a profound impact on over 2.5 million people living in poverty in Vietnam. Milking the Rhino
Jeannie Magill conceived, researched and is co-producing this documentary film, Milking the Rhino...and Other Tales of Community Conservation. This brief clip provides a view of the creation of the Il 'Ngwesi Lodge, owned and operated by Maasai tribes people on the edge of the Mukogodo Hills in northern Kenya.
