Peaceful Valley Ranch

pvrPeaceful Valley Ranch in Lyons, Colorado,  is one of the few dude ranches in the West that offers guests the opportunity to see the ranch year-round.  Nestled into the Roosevelt National Forest,  Lyons is the gateway to theRocky Mountains and just outside of Rocky Mountain National Park.  It’s a quick trip from Denver, but in the heart of Colorado’s preserved wilderness.

The list of activities is long, and it’s up to you to choose.  You meet your horse on the first day, then can learn how to fly fish and practice every day, or you can ride from 7,500 feet up to 12,000 under the spectacular 14,259 foot tall Long’s Peak in the National Park.  After all that time in the saddle, the hot tubs are yours to relax in-and a trip to the West wouldn’t be the same without watching the Milky Way appear over the snow-capped Fourteeners of the Front Range.

Peaceful Valley is one of the few dude ranches open for the winter season.  If you can’t make it this summer, find real quiet and adventure recreation at Peaceful Valley under snow.  You can easily fill a week with snowshoeing and cross country skiing in the Roosevelt National Forest, then curl up by the fire as the powder falls outside.  It’s a nice change of pace from the ski resorts of the Rockies, and let’s you see the forest as they were 100 years ago.
