Exploring Algeria and Paragliding in the Andes
Fly, Walk, & Camelback Across Algeria
Lose yourself in time as you travel with Peter Grubb on ROWInternational's first trip to Algeria.  Recognized by National Geographic as a "Tour of a Lifetime", this three-week tour explores four corners of Africa's second largest country.

As you peruse the detailed itinerary, you'll notice that the word "explore" comes up again and again; this is truly a "rekkie" run.  The disclaimer warning the traveler to expect a few hiccups on this maiden trip will likely only serve as an incentive for those eager to discover this fascinating bridge between the Arab and African world.

Peter created this itinerary based on his experiences on two previous trips and has the group traveling by foot, plane, 4x4 and camelback to locations such as the Sand Sea of Grand Erg Occidental, Red Sandstone town of Timmoun and Tuareg Country.  This trip will provide valuable insight on Algeria's intriguing natural and cultural history, and greater understanding between the Muslim and North African world and ours.

For more info visit ROW International’s web site www.rowinternational.com or call Peter Grubb directly at 208-765-0841.

Paragliding with the Condors in the Andes
The Andean condor can have a wingspan of up to 10 feet. Charles Darwin once commented that he watched one soar for half an hour without it ever flapping its wings. The condor, like a paraglider, relies on thermal winds to remain airborne.

Share the airspace with these massive birds when you join a paragliding trip with Gonzalo and Mariana, the owners of Amazing Mountains, an adventure outfit based out of Salta City in Argentina.  Just below the Tropic of Capricorn in the Andes Mountains, Argentina, Bolivia and Chile intersect.  Amazing Mountains leads tours visiting stunning and remote jump sites in all three countries in a three week period, with camping and trekking in between.

Mariana and Gonzalo are expert gliders and can accommodate travelers of any skill level, including jumping tandem with inexperienced visitors.  They also support local tourism students by giving them first-hand experience and training them to guide.

For more info visit their web site at www.airesdemontana.com.ar or contact them directly at: info@amazingmountains.com.

Exploring Cave Dwellings in Turkey

Take an overnight bus from Istanbul to the deep valleys of Cappadocia.  Walking around this lunar-like landscape of bizarre rock formations will make you feel like you are in an episode of Star Wars.  It was here that past inhabitants carved houses and elaborate subterranean cities (some with nearly 20,000 inhabitants) out of the soft volcanic rock.

You can spend a day wandering around the valley, in and out of houses and tunnels – and even spend the night at one of the new boutique hotels that have incorporated the rocks into their architectural design.
